Tasks and homework
When a tutor sets you work it appears as a task: the instructions, any files you need, what you have to send back, and — once you have answered — their feedback.
Finding your tasks
Tasks live in your portal and anything still waiting on you is shown on your home page. They are one list, ordered by what needs doing: anything past its due date leads, then work with a deadline coming up, then feedback you have not read yet, then everything already answered. A task past its due date is marked overdue, but you can still send it.
Sending your answer
Open the task to see what it asks for. Some want a written answer, some a file, some both — anything required is marked, and the Submit button stays unavailable until those parts are filled in.

Feedback
Once your tutor has read your work they mark it reviewed and may leave written feedback, files sent back to you, or both — all of it appears on the task under your submission. If the tutor allowed resubmission you can send a corrected version afterwards; if not, your first submission stands.
Asking a question
Every task has a discussion. Your private thread goes to your tutor only — use it if you are stuck or need something clarified. Where a task was set for several students there is also a group thread that everyone on the task can read.
Common questions
- How large can my files be?
- Up to ten files per submission, and 30 MB in total. Individual files are limited to 10 MB.
- Can I change my answer after sending it?
- Only if your tutor allowed resubmission on that task. The task page tells you whether you can.
- Can other students see my work?
- No. Your submission and your feedback are private between you and your tutor.
- I missed the due date — is it too late?
- No. The task stays open and you can still submit; it will simply be marked as overdue.
- My tutor recorded my answer for me — why?
- If you handed the work in another way — photos, an email, on paper — your tutor can file it against the task for you instead of asking you to upload it again. It appears on the task marked as recorded by them, and you get an email when it happens. Tell them if anything looks wrong.
- My tutor sent a file back with the feedback — where is it?
- Under Feedback on the task, below any written remarks. Files sent back to you are private between you and your tutor; nobody else on the task can open them.
