Getting Started

An organization on Matheia is a tutoring business or school that brings several tutors under one roof — with a shared public page, central booking, and billing in one account.

What an organization is

A regular tutor account manages one person's own students and schedule. An organization adds a shared layer on top: a public organization page, booking products that can be routed to any of your teaching tutors, open cohorts run by the business, and a single Stripe account that collects payments for everyone. Owners and administrators run the business; teaching tutors deliver the lessons.

Open an organization

Organizations are created through a short application that our team reviews before your workspace is activated.

  1. 01On the registration page, choose to register an organization instead of an individual tutor account.
  2. 02Enter the organization's name and the owner's contact details, and submit the application.
  3. 03Our team reviews the request. You'll be notified by email when it's approved.
  4. 04Sign in and open the organization workspace from the dashboard to finish setup.

The organization workspace

Once approved, the owner gets an organization dashboard. If you also teach independently, the workspace switcher moves you between your personal workspace and the organization's; each keeps its own students, notes and files entirely separate. What the sidebar offers depends on your role — owners and administrators reach the team, students, offerings, cohorts, payments and settings, while teaching tutors see the students and lessons they are responsible for.

What to set up next

Three things unlock the rest: invite your teaching tutors (Members & Roles), connect the organization's Stripe account so you can collect payments (Billing & Payouts), and create your first booking product or cohort (Offerings & Routing). Start with members and payouts — offerings depend on both.
