In-person locations

If you teach face to face, add the places you teach at. Matheia then knows where a lesson happens, shows the address to the student, and stops you being double-booked in a room that is already in use.

Adding a place

A place is an address you teach at — your studio, a school, a library. Each place can hold one or more rooms.

  1. 01Open Settings and find Locations.
  2. 02Add a place with its name and full address.
  3. 03Add any instructions a student needs to find you — the entrance, the floor, the buzzer.
  4. 04Add rooms if the place has more than one teaching space.

Rooms and capacity

A room is a specific space within a place. Give it a capacity and Matheia will not let two lessons occupy it at the same time, which matters when several tutors share a building. If a place has only one teaching space you can skip rooms entirely.

Availability per location

Availability is tied to where you are. Set which places each availability window applies to, and a student booking an in-person lesson only sees the slots where you are actually at that address. A window can cover several places if you move between them freely.

Online delivery

Online lessons are a location too. Choose which tool a product is delivered with — a meeting link, a whiteboard, or both — and students see the joining details on the lesson rather than having to ask.

Common questions

Do I need locations if I only teach online?
No. Leave places empty and everything works as before; the location step simply does not appear.
Can one lesson be both online and in person?
A lesson has one delivery mode. Create separate products if you offer the same subject both ways.
What stops two tutors booking the same room?
Room capacity is enforced when the booking is made, so the second booking is refused rather than silently overlapping.
